Chat Sexual Health is Embrace’s text message advice service for people across Wolverhampton.

Text a sexual health nurse on 07480 635 548 to get confidential and non-judgemental advice and support for a range of sexual health issues, including:

  • STI testing    
  • Safe sex
  • Smear tests
  • Pregnancy advice
  • Counselling
  • HIV testing
  • Emergency contraception

A sexual health nurse can also put you in touch with other local NHS or support services that can help.

Text messages sent to 07480 635 548 are delivered to a secure website and read by a sexual health nurse who then starts a text conversation. 

You will get an automatic response to confirm your text has been received. You will also receive information about where to get help if your question or concern is urgent and when you can expect a response.

Chat Sexual Health is only able to accept text messages and not voice calls or MMS picture messages. We support messaging from UK mobile numbers only (please note this does not include messages sent from landlines, international mobile numbers and some 'number masking' mobile apps).

Messages are charged at the usual rate but are free with an inclusive text package.

We do not usually inform anyone when you message a sexual health nurse through the Chat Sexual Health number. However, we might inform someone if we were concerned about your safety, but we would usually speak to you first.

All text messages are delivered to a secure website which could be seen by other healthcare staff who follow the same confidentiality rules.

The Chat Sexual Health service is available 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday (except bank holidays). We aim to respond to messages within 48 hours.
